Social Media Is An Energy Exchange

Ok, so you had a day.. a long, exhausting, day. What do you do when you go home?

“Let me cLeAr My MiNd and see what’s on Instagram!”

This is where you f*cked up.

You might think social media is mindless, but it’s bleeding your energy.

Yes, you heard right – watching that girl from high school math class’s bender on Instagram isn’t doing you any favors.

She’s cooked, don’t let it happen to you.

You might think you’re escaping your problems, but let’s be real – you’re only adding new ones.

So back to Instagram. You open your feed up after a long day to c l e a r y o u r m i n d. You scroll for 5 minutes..

Now, not only do you have your own sh*t to worry about, you have: Saira’s roommate’s GoFundMe page, Scott’s latest DogeCoin L’s, and Laura asking total strangers which concealer to use (just f*cking Google it, Laura).

5 minutes.

You got all that from 5 minutes of scrolling. How was that beneficial in any way? (hint: it wasn’t).

You can say you’re not giving these things attention, but you are. You know they’re out there. Whether you’re thinking about them or not, they’re now living rent free in YOUR head.

Look we get it, it’s easier said than done. Social media is designed to keep our attention, (we’re looking at you, TikTok). It has its upsides.. like memes.. and @24helps.

Don’t let the ease of it fool you though, proceed with caution. Know when to step back and you’ll be fine.

If you’re looking to escape or wind down, unplug. Go take a nap, take a hot shower, light one up.. but social media is NOT the answer.

You don’t have to interact with anyone for social media to take its toll. It’s an energy exchange at the end of the day, it requires your mental focus – even when you think it doesn’t.

This is why it’s dangerous.
