Don’t Be Desperate

You want a new job.

After 834 applications and 833 rejections, you finally have a phone call with a potential employer.

You said yes to everything. Speak Spanish? Yes. Excel proficiency? Sure, why not..

“Are you available to start tomorrow? 8am?” ABSOLUTELY.

8AM the next day:  You’re still in bed. You're not a morning person, you actually HATE data entry. You realize - this job AIN'T IT.

What happened? You got what you wanted.. Let's see where things went wrong.

One word: Desperation.

See, when you’re desperate for something, you might agree to things that don't necessarily work for you – you set yourself up for failure.

Fuck jobs for a second, let’s apply this to our personal lives.. Say, dating.

Don’t tell us you never made excuses for someone you’re dating.. we’ve all let ourselves see how red the flag can get at some point.

We get it. There was a pandemic, socializing might seem like a foreign concept. DO NOT attach yourself to the first thing you see. That first time in a long time aint worth it.

When we’re desperate, we justify things we wouldn’t have dealt with on a good day. Looking at the first thing that comes our way makes us miss other things, better things..

Have confidence in your efforts and trust the process. Take things one step at a time and use logic, everything else will follow.

Remember: There’s dudes out there going broke trying to chase IG girlfriends. Don’t do that. Ask yourself, Are you in love with her? Or in love with the idea of her

Disagree?
