Actually, That’s Enough.
Hi,
Stop hurting your credibility by saying ‘actually’.
You’re aCtUaLlY giving people a reason to doubt you. You don’t want that now, do you?
You think you're adding validity to your statement; but it really comes off as uncertain.
You know what you want to say in your head – grow a pair and say it.
Let’s give you an example. You’re pitching your company to an investor:
“We have 5,000 users” v. “We actually have 5,000 users”
Which would you believe?
Why’d you say ‘actually’? Are you surprised you have 5,000 users? (not a good look).
Are you bragging? (also not a good look).
The word ‘actually’ aCtuAlLy doesn’t benefit you in any way. It’s a burden to watch.
What you assume makes you look confident aCtuAlLy makes you look like a dunce.
You’re hurting others’ credibility by saying ‘actually’ - you might be offending someone.
Lets give you an example. Your friend opens up a new restaurant:
“This tastes great” v. ‘thiS ACtUaLLy taStEs greAt”
Which one aCtUaLlY sounds like a compliment?
WTF did you expect - are you surprised? Didn't think they could aCtuAlLy do it?
Yea, that’s right. – Using ‘actually’ makes you sound like a d*ck by throwing a jab at their credibility.
See the issue? The word aint sh*t - We say vote it off the island.
